PORT ROYAL RIVER BRIDGE CLOSURE
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced a new date of Monday, March 27, for the closure of Route 75 between First and Third streets in Port Royal. This includes a closure of the Port Royal Bridge on Route 75. PennDOT anticipates this closure being in place until the end of August of 2023 while the contractor demolishes and replaces portions of the superstructure of a Route 75 bridge spanning the Norfolk Southern Railroad. Signage is in place to alert drivers to the coming closure.
While the bridge is closed, drivers will follow a detour using Route 3002 (Old 22 Road/Main Street), Route 35, and Route 333 back to Route 75. Homeowners near the bridge will be able to access their properties during the closure.
PennDOT will make project information available on a dedicated web page as the closure goes into effect. Information will include detour mapping. PennDOT will issue an update on the project as the web page becomes available.
