JCSD TO NAME NEW SUPERINTENDENT


The Juniata County School District should have a new superintendent by the end of Tuesday night's special board meeting.


Christie Holderman is expected to be named the superintendent according to the board's agenda. The proposed contract would run November 2, 2022 through June 30, 2027.


The meeting is scheduled for 7pm at the Juniata County School District Administrative Building.



PENNDOT ANNOUNCES I-83 CLOSURE


PennDot has announced that there will be a full closure of the I-83 Paxton Street Bridge beginning at 9:00pm on Friday, November 4. The closure will last through 6:00am on Monday, November 7.


The closure is to allow PennDot to replaced a damaged beam on the bridge.



FATAL MIFFLIN COUNTY CRASH


One person was killed and another injured in a Monday morning crash in Decatur Township, Mifflin County.


State Police at Lewistown say an unidentified driver on Route 522 North attempting to make a left hand turn when they turned into the path of an oncoming vehicle. The oncoming vehicle struck the driver's side door. The vehicle came to rest approximately 60 feet from the point of initial contact.


The driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead. The driver of the second vehicle and a passenger each sustained a head injury, The third passenger escaped injury in the crash.



NO INJURIES SUSTAINED IN DELAWARE TOWNSHIP CRASH


Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown investigated a two vehicle crash in Delaware Township, Juniata County on Monday morning.


The crash occurred at the Route 333 entrance to Route 322 East. A unidentified individual was attempting to make a left hand turn onto Route 322.


Another vehicle traveling south on Route 333 turned left to enter Route 3222 East from the left lane and struck the vehicle.


Both vehicles suffered minor damage in the crash, neither driver was injured in the 7:55am collision.
