JCSD NAMES HOLDERMAN NEW SUPERINTENDENT


At their meeting Tuesday evening, the Juniata County School District Board of Directors named Christie Holderman the new Superintendent of the District.


Holderman replaces former JCSD Superintedent Gary Dawson. Dawson resigned in August.


Christie Holderman is a Juniata County native and has been a longtime employee of the Juniata County School District. She most recently served as the Assistant Superintendent.


Her contract will last through June 30, 2027.


THEFT BY DECEPTION


Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown are investigating a Theft By Deception incident in Delaware Township, Juniata County.


A 70 year old Thompsontown woman reported Ebay giftcards from January to now had been stolen from her though the internet. The incident is under investigation. The cards are valued at around $30,000.


THEFT BY DECEPTION


A 26 year old Port Royal resident reported the theft of $540 cash. Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown determined the incident occurred through the internet. There is an ongoing investigation.


ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON


State Police at Lewistown responded to an inactive domestic incident in Lack Township Juniata County on October 18, 2022. Charges were filed in the incident.


DECATUR TOWNSHIP CRASH


State Police at Lewistown responded to an accident on Snook Road in Decatur Township, Mifflin County.


Savannah Garmin, 18 of Lewistown was traveling on Snook Road at around 6:35am on Tuesday when she struck an embankment and rolled the vehicle onto it's roof when swerving to miss a deer.


Garmin was transported to Lewistown Hospital for suspected minor injuries. She was wearing a seatbelt.
