PERRY COUNTY DUI CRASH


A 17 year old Mifflintown male was deemed to be driving under the influence and in the possession of illegal substances and other paraphernalia following a November 9 crash in Liverpool Township, Perry County.


The crash occurred on Susquehanna Trail at the intersection of State Route 104. when the minor was attempting to conduct a left hand turn onto 104. A second vehicle, driven by 29 year old Justin R Shirk of Northumberland, was traveling south when the 17 year old failed to yield and turned into Shirk's path.


The vehicle then traveled across two lanes of travel and struck a third vehicle driven by Michael A Moyer, 57 of Liverpool.


The 17 year old was transported to Penn State Holy Spirit Hospital for apparent injuries. Charges were filed in the 5:53am collision.



DRUG POSSESSION


Pennsylvania State Police at Newport conducted a welfare check on a vehicle parked in a parking lot on US 22 W near the Newport Exit in Howe Township, Perry County.


When conducting the check, PSP found the operator of the vehicle, Brent Deamer, 59 of Yeagertown, to be in the possession of illegal substances/paraphernalia and was under the influence.
