HUNTINGDON COUNTY MAN CHARGED WITH SETTING WILDFIRES


A Three Springs man and firefighter has been charged with 21 counts of Causing Catastrophe, 21 counts of Risking Catastrophe, and 21 counts of Maliciosuly Setting/Causing Fire To Forest.


Adam Ewing. 18 of Three Springs, was arrested by the Bureu of Forestry for allegedly setting 21 wildfires over the course of two months in Huntingdon County. He is lodged at the Huntingdon County Prison in lieu of $500,000 bail.


According to WTAJ TV, on February 11 a series of wildfires were reported in the southern portion of Hungtingdon County. Three days later the Bureau of Forestry investigated two of those fires and determined that they had been lit with the intention to burn or spread.


On Februrary 14, two more wildfires broke out. These were investigated and determined to be intentional. The chief of Three Springs Volunteer Fire Company, Chris Grace, told investigators that Ewing was the first to arrive at the station.


On February 23 and 24, more intentional fires were set. Followings these the Bureu of Forestry confirmed that toilet paper in Ewing's residence was identical to toilet paper found at the fires.


On March 16 and other fire was reported. A passerby reported that they saw Ewing leaving a wooded area near where the fire was located.


A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9am at Magisterial District Judge Central Court Huntingdon. Ewing was unable to post the bail.



DELAWARE TOWNSHIP UNDERAGE ALCOHOL POSSESSION


Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown conducted a traffic stop on Route 333 near Cedar Springs Road in Delaware Township, Juniata County.


Joel Hursh, 20 of Millerstown, was found to be in possession of alcoholic beverages. Charges have been filed through Magisterial District Court.



CROSS STREET DOMESTIC


Pennsylvania State Police were called to a location on Cross Street in Mifflintown Borough, Juniata County.


A 65 year old Mifflintown female and a 23 year old Mifflintown female were in a verbal altercation that turned phyiscal.


Charges were filed against the 23 year old through Magistrial District Court.



THOMPSONTOWN DUI


Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown responded to a call pertaining to an erratic driver in Thompsontown Borough, Juniata County.


A 50 year old Millerstown man was arrested on suspicion of DUI in the incident. Charges have been filed.



WALKER TOWNSHIP DUI ON DRUGS


Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown conducted a traffic stop on a 2010 KIA operated by Heather Warner, 41 of Lewistown, on US22 East near Center Road.


PSP says Warner was determined to be Driving Under the Influence was was arrested. The vehicle was seized pending a search warrant. An investigation is ongoing.



ADAMS TOWNSHIP DRUG INCIDENT


Pennsylvania State Police at Selinsgrove arrested two people in an incident that occured at the pulloff on Route 235 in Adams Township, Snyder County.


Samala Wilson, 43 of Willmont, and Neil Davis, 48 of Millmont were encountered by a DCNR officer at the pulloff. They had drug paraphernalia in plain view. The arrestees were also in possession of Act 64 per the the release.



JUNIATA HIGH SCHOOL ASSAULT


Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown recieved a report of an assault from an 18 year old female Juniata High School student.


Charges against the juvenile actor have been filed via a juvenile allegation.



LOCAL SPORTS


Port Royal Speedway was rained out on Saturday. They'll move the Spring Thaw to this coming Saturday, April 29.


Port Royal will have two nights of racing this weekend. On Saturday night will be the Spring Thaw makeup with 410 Sprint Cars, PA Sprint Series 305 Sprint Cars and USAC East Coast Wingless Sprints.


Sunday night the Lucal Oil Late Model Dirt Series will roll into town for the $10,000 to win Battle in the Borough. The program also features Limited Late Models.
