PORT ROYAL WOMAN ARRESTED FOR RETAIL THEFT, OTHER CHARGES


Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown investigated an incident of Retail Theft and Bad Checks at Schlegal's Grocery and Hardware on Route 333 in Delaware Township, Juniata County.


Stephanie Wagner, 35 of Port Royal was arrested after it was determined that she passed a bad check and was able to obtain various merchandise and cash totaling $425.


Wagner was lodged at the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in lieu of $50,000 bail on other various charges.


A preliminary hearing for Wagner is scheduled for January 25, 2023 at 11:30am before Magisterial District Judge Tracy L. Powell.



PORT ROYAL BRIDGE TO CLOSE THURSDAY


After being delayed by weather, the Port Royal River Bridge closure is scheduled to begin on Thursday, January 5 according to a release from PennDot.


A detour will be in place until the project is completed. It is estimated that the project will last through June.



SUSQUEHANNA TOWNSHIP BAD CHECKS


Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown investigated an incident of multiple bad checks at The Oriental Store in Susquehanna Township, Juniata County.


Through the investigation it was determined that Jason Swartz, 45 of Millerstown and Charity Swartz, 45 of Millerstown wrote seven bad checks to the store totaling the amount of $991.27.


Charges have been filed separately against each arrestee.




FERMANAGH TOWNSHIP DUI


Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown investigated an incident of DUI at 12:12am on January 1 in Fermanagh Township, Juniata County.


A 43 year old Mifflintown woman called 911 to report that her passenger was passed out.


The woman then drove to 1380 William Penn Highway, Juniata County to await EMS. Through investigation the woman was suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol and a controlled substance.
