Season 8 of Friday Night Football on JCR Begins August 26

MEXICO, PA -- It's hard to believe that it's been eight years since WJUN left and we became Juniata County Radio! In those eight years we have aired Juniata and East Juniata games from 27 different counties! The 2022 football season will allow us to add the 28th!

This school year we plan to bring you around 70 games from Juniata and EJ. Last year we met our goal, broadcasting 74 events during the 2021-22 school year.

As always we begin the year with football. We also plan to add in some soccer games as we work out staff availability.

Let's begin with a look at football!

In the first game on the season on August 26 Clearfield will visit Juniata's Dietrick Field. Kickoff is set for 7pm, air time on Juniata County Radio will be at 6:30.

Our pregame show will be highlighted by an interview with Billy Splain of PA Football News. Brad Strawser will sit down with Billy to discuss PA Football News and their internship program.

This past spring we launched the digital news section on juniatacountyradio.com. Each week and for each game we cover in 2022-23, we will post a brief recap at the conclusion of the contest. Fred Parnell will handle writing duties for football.

The 2022 football schedule looks like this:

• August 26: Juniata vs Clearfield w/ Quincy & Seth

• September 2: Juniata @ Selinsgrove w/ Brad, Quincy, & Seth

• September 9: Juniata vs West Perry w/ Quincy & Seth

• September 16: Juniata vs Newport w/ Brad, Quincy & Seth

• September 23: Juniata @ Halifax w/ Brad, Quincy & Seth

• September 30: Juniata vs James Buchanan w/ Brad, Quincy, & Seth

• October 7: Juniata @ Boiling Springs w/ Quincy & Seth

• October 14: Juniata @ UDA w/ Quincy & Seth

• October 21: Juniata vs Line Mountain w/ Brad, Quincy, & Seth

• October 28: Juniata @ Susquenita w/ Brad, Quincy & Seth

Kickoff for all games is at 7pm, air time on JCR will be 6:30pm.
