Tri Valley League Names 2021-22 Winter All Stars

The Tri Valley League has released the 2021-22 Winter Sports All Star list. Juniata and East Juniata had a total of nine students and coaches named to the list.

BOY'S BASKETBALL
Tyler Sherman, a Greenwood junior, was named the boy's basketball MVP. In the TVL he ended the season with 16.44 PPG (5th), 159 Rebounds (1st), 32 Assists, 18 Blocks (5th), 37 Steals, and 21 3 PT FGM (Tied 9th).
Overall Sherman ended his season with 412 pts (16.48 PPG), 237 Rebounds, 49 Assists, 31 Blocks, 53 Steals, and 31 3 PT FGM.
Juniata Indians Head Coach Al Ream was named the Tri Valley League Coach of the Year.
Tanner Barth, a East Juniata senior, was named to the first team all star list.
Jake Brackbill (EJ, Jr) and Jacob Condo (Juniata, Sr) were named to the second team.
GIRL'S BASKETBALL
Terri Reichard, a Line Mountain Senior, was named girl's basketball MVP. In the TVL she ended the season with 170 for 10.63 PPG (5th), 66 Assists (1st), Steals 71 (1st), 43 Rebounds, and 23 Blocks (Tied 6th).
Overall Reichard ended her season with 270 Points (10.80 PPG), 89 Assists, 37 Blocks, 104 Steals, and 56 Rebounds.
Juniata had two players on the all star list. MacKenzie Bennett, a senior, was named to the first team and was a unanimous selection.
Ava Shearer, a sophomore, was named to the second team.
WRESTLING
The wrestling MVP was Newport senior Ganon Smith. Smith went 5-0 in the TVL with 4 pins. Overall he went 39-2, won sectionals and districts, placed 2nd in regionals, and 3rd at states.
Taylor Smith, Jonathan Kauffman, and Casey Smith, all Juniata juniors, were named to the all star list. Both Taylor Smith and Casey Smith were unanimous selections.
