PORT ROYAL BOROUGH COUNCIL MEETING MOVED
The Port Royal Borough Council meeting for August has been moved. The meeting will now be held on Tuesday, August 19 at 6pm at the Port Royal Borough Building located at 111 East Eighth Street in Port Royal. As always the meeting is open to the public.
MILFORD TOWNSHIP DUI
A 25 year old man from Mifflin is facing DUI charges.Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown conducted a traffic stop on Locust Grove Road in Milford Township, Juniata County. Christopher Gahagan, 25 of Mifflin, was found to be under the influence of alcohol.
PENN TOWNSHIP DUI
Pennsylvania State Police at Selinsgrove responded to a report of an eratic driver on Route 35 in Penn Township, Snyder County. The driver of a 2018 Ford Escape, John Brubaker, 69 of Port Trevorton, was stopped by responding offiers and was found to be under the influence of alcohol. Charges were filed against Brubaker in the incident.
FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP CRASH
Pennsylvania State Police at Selinsgrove also responded to a crash on Paxtonville Road in Franklin Township, Snyder County.James Barber Jr, 18 of Richfield, lost control when using his emergency break. The application of the emergency break caused the vehicle to fishtail. Barber then made a righthand turn onto Paxton Street to regain control causing the vehicle to turn back onto Paxtonville Road. Gunther Hoffman, 25 of Richfield, was still traveling westbound on Paxtonville Road when Barber entered his path. Barber's front bumper struck the passenger side of Hoffman's vehicle. Both vehicles came to rest in the northbound lane of Paxton Street.Neither driver was injuried in the collision.
FERMANAGH TOWNSHIP CRASH
Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown responded to a crash at the intersection of Cleck Road and Cuba Mills Road in Fermanagh Township, Juniata County. When trying to turn onto Cuba Mills Road, a 2020 Volvo was unable to complete the turn. The vehicle then backed up and the left the roadway, impacting a fence. The operator was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.
