Clearfield, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that rehabilitation work on the Mifflin County Veterans Memorial Bridge that spans the Juniata River along Route 103 in Lewistown Borough and Granville Township will resume Monday, November 3. This work will improve the ride quality over the bridge, extend its service life, and improve its overall condition rating.

Starting Monday, PennDOT will set the existing traffic signals at either side of the bridge to flash mode, and flaggers will direct traffic across the structure while work is ongoing. Crews will work to rehabilitate the bridge structure and expansion joints. PennDOT anticipates work to be completed in one week, but all work is weather dependent.

PennDOT urges pedestrians around the Victory Park mural to stay clear of ongoing overhead work and drivers to exercise caution in all work zones, obey posted speed limits, and always buckle up.

In total, four bridges will see work as part of this contract. Work on a Route 4001 bridge in Clinton County started earlier this construction season. Two others in Juniata County will also see work later this construction season. Rylind Construction Company, Inc. of Muncy, PA, is the contractor on this $5 million contract.
