SPRING TOWNSHIP STRANGULATION


Pennsylvania State Police at Newport responded to a call on Sherman's Valley Road in Spring Township, Perry County.


Honesty Joy Christmas, 50 of Plant City, Florida, was found nude and in a physical altercation with Blaine Patrick Trimm, 38 of Elliotsburg.


Christmas was physically seperated from the other involved parties and was found to be highly intoxicated and disorderly. Upon investigation by police, it was discovered that Christmas and Trimm had been consuming alcohol. Christmas then became belligerent and began striking Trimm.


Trimm admitted that he placed his arm around the neck of Christmas and applied pressure causing Christmas to have difficulty breathing.


Christmas then continued to act aggressively and made allegations of sexual assault. Christmas was transported by EMS for evaluation.


Trimm was taken into custody. Based on the investigation, probable cause was established for charges against both Trimm and Christmas.



9 YEAR OLD LIFE FLIGHTED FROM DUI CRASH


Pennsylvania State Police at Newport responded to a crash on Route 322 Westbound in Howe Township, Perry County.


Upon arrival, police found a 9 year old Philadelphia female outside the vehicle. The child was evaluated by EMS and was flown by Life Lion helicopter for treatment. Another passenger, a 55 year old female from Philadelphia was transported by ground for treatment.


The driver of the vehicle, Jennifer Sherwood, 44 of Philadelphia, provided false identification to police, who observed Sherwood to be impaired. Sherwood was found to have active NCIC warrants.


Sherwood was charged with Aggravated Assault by vehicle while driving under the influence, simple assault. DUI, Simple Possession, Endangering the Welfare of Children, False Identification to Law Enforcement, Reckless Driving, Careless Driving, Driving on a Suspended License, and Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic.


Sherwood was lodged at the Cumberland County Prison to await arraignment.


MAN CHARGED AFTER SCREAMING INTO BURGER KING INTERCOM


Lewistown Borough Police were called to the Burger King on South Main Street in Lewistown, Mifflin County.


Cory Harpster, 49 with no fixed address, was yelling that "everyone was going to die" into the drive through intercom. Police made contact with Harpster who said he was trying to get a drink and was frusterated.


A short time later police were called to the Mifflin County Correctional Facility where Harpster was found standing in front of the sally port entrance while smoking meth while also trying to get inside to get a drink.


Officers arrived and found Harpster having a conversation with himself while swinging his arms in an aggressive manner. While speaking with officers, Harpster was holding a glass meth pope.


Harpster was given commands to drop the pipe. He began putting the pipe down then pulled it up to his mouth with one hand while lighting it with the other. Harpster stated "I'm gonna hit it quick" to the officers. The officer then knocked it out of his hands.


Harpster then got into a fighting stance with clenched fists. A taser was deployed but did not immediately incapacitate Harpster. A second taser was deployed and Harpster fell to the gorund.


Officers then tried to place Harpster in handcuffs when he began resisting. He punched one of the officers in the face. Jail staff emerged from the jail and assisted officers who were still wrestling with Harpster on the ground.


Harpster was eventually secured in handcuffs. He was taken to Lewistown Hospital where he was medically cleared. He was then taken to the Mifflin County Correctional Facility and charged with Simple Assault, Resisting Arrest, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Disorderly Conduct, and Public Drunkeness.
